Dental Fillings

Your healthy smile is important to everyone at the Church Wellesley Dental Centre. If you have cavities or decay, our Toronto team might recommend a dental filling to help you maintain your oral health.

Why might I need fillings?

Fillings are recommended for treating teeth with dental decay. If a tooth is cracked or damaged, a dental filling might be the best way to fix it.

Old or damaged filling might need to be replaced with a new filling.

What types of fillings do we use?

We use bonded fillings made of a white composite resin that is similar in colour to your tooth. We use this material so that it blends naturally with your smile.

How does the fillings procedure work?

First our dentist will identify and remove the decay in the affected tooth. Next, they will apply a bonding solution to the area and add the composite filling material. A high-intensity blue light is used to harden the filling in only a few seconds.

Your dentist will then check to ensure the filling’s shape fits your bite and will make any necessary adjustments.
